Clemson University | School of Architecture
The continued success of the COTE Ten architectural design studio at Clemson University is driven by its collaborative teaching model. Professors work together as a team, fostering an environment focused on open discussion and intellectual exchange. While the course encourages broad conversations that span the arts, humanities, sciences, and environmental topics, the core assignment is tightly structured: students must produce two digital graphic boards and a set of descriptive texts. This combination of open dialogue and precise deliverables has resulted in a distinctive, high-quality design output that has elevated the standards of the entire Master’s program. Over the past five years, the ARCH 8510 Studio Design III—co-taught by this faculty group—has produced 12 national student awards from leading architectural organizations. Furthermore, student projects from ARCH 8510 are regularly recognized in the prestigious AIA/ACSA COTE Top Ten competition, hosted by the American Institute of Architects Committee on the Environment (AIA COTE®) and the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA), the foremost professional and academic bodies in the field.
This website is an ongoing studio at Clemson University School of Architecture, funded by the CAF [Clemson Advancement Foundation].
